What is your personal mission when it comes to how you improve educational opportunities for your students?

I start by creating an educational environment that is conducive to the most favorable learning conditions. This also includes a good home and school relationship with my parents. When parents have buy in, the children feel comfortable and support is given to the endeavor of educating the students.

This learning environment, which allows all students to think and work collaboratively, has a strong sense of community and purpose.

How have you used your reward?

I have purchased items that support the Science of Reading, rewards for my students, lots of books, and on professional improvement for myself.

What’s the best advice you have for educators on how to achieve academic growth like yours?

Get to know your students. When children know that you care and you are invested in their success they will come to trust you with their academic growth. Be committed to cultivating and substantiating a partnership with the family of each individual student. Families are stakeholders and have given us the opportunity to develop their child’s learning path and they really want to help us succeed with this task. What a precious resource we have with our children and their families.
