Excellence in Teaching Awards model expands to 11 more schools with state funding.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — The South Carolina Department of Education announced it will award $5 million to 37 schools across 29 districts in the state.
The grants aim to support student growth in English Language Arts (ELA) and math.
With 118 schools applying for over $22 million, the demand for innovative teacher compensation in South Carolina is clear.
Not all schools could be funded, but 37 will set an example for rewarding excellence and keeping top educators in the classroom.
